I received a ricordia frag from a friend and it has these semi-translucent things on the rock. They have little white ball tips on them. I don't know if they are a pest or a good nem. If a pest they will be tossed. If good, I can move it to the display so they can get some better light.

Thanks!

Looks like a ball anemone to me.

yup ball anemone. i have about 10 of them in my fluval edge. and a couple in my cube. dont think they are a pest. and personally i like them alot.
they are pretty. mine have pink mouths and disks with bright white balls on the tentacles.

im not sure if they like alot of light, mine usually close up until the lights go off.

hope that helps

Thanks for the input! I'll see if they are able to expand a bit when in my sump with the stray light from the frag section. They'll end up in the display at some point if they survive.

Yeah really cool until you see one attacks!! I saw one totally streched out and swallowed a zoa! Craziness

Thats is a ball anemone, two different kinds, urs I believe is from the carribean and don't get much bigger. The pacific grows a very different ball anemone..
Here is mine, pretty small at the moment, gets about 8-10" across at night, around 5 inches during the day
