LR comes out of the tank, then outside on my porch, then cooked to death using this pencil butane torch while wearing a mask and making sure fumes drift away from me.

Total success

Surgically got rid of 20+ without disturbing other neighboring corals

Problem with majanos is they are tiny anemones with a foot that locks into LR with a death grip.. They hide in cracks when disturbed

.... UNTIL NOW

They actually don't do particularly well under bright lots and with spot feeding. I threw some in a pest jar about two months ago with some blue clove polyps, and they're all very subdued. The gorgonian seems to enjoy the attention, though. :)

2 weeks update

Been using the aforementioned butune pencil torch and it gives you an area slightly larger than a silver dollar to work in.

Meaning.... once the LR is out of the water and I've identified where the Majanos are, any neighboring coral I want to keep safe needs to be outside a 1" to 1.5" circle.

I surgically burn the majanos until it boils and all the green turns to black.

Days later there is no return of anything inside that scourced area.

I find majanos respond really well (translation: they implode) to Aiptasia-X. Aiptasia, not so much...

use tin foil deflector panels and you can wedge two right up against the anem target, caging it in the middle, shoot the fire, and not affect surrounding corals.

plus, you can see now that wet live rock transmits no heat its amazing.

jet a section test of live rock with your torch five or ten seconds lol

then thumb press right on top after fire removed, still cold. amazing radiation physics.
