I bought a Majestic Angel today from LF S. I'm setting up my QT tank right now and they're holding onto the fish until Saturday for me. Should I treat the fish prophylactically for the well knowns, or should I observe at first? It's in a low-level copper System at the store and they run their salinity at sg 1.021 . I will match that specific gravity and then slowly raise it up to my tanks salinity over time. The fish looks perfect, very nicely weighted and I saw it eating mysis today ....its a small store and all their fish and all their tanks look beautiful , so do I observe or do I treat ?? thank you in advance for any replies

I would treat. The low levels of copper in that system can suppress symptoms of ick, velvet and brook so that you can't see evidence of it until up to three weeks after removing them from the system in some cases.

100% agree. With a PBT nearly 100% chance it has ich or velvet or both.

So should I treat with cupramine first and then prazi or can I do them together?

They can be safely done together but care must be taken. Adding prazi can sometimes cause a bacterial bloom (cloudy water) that will suck the O2 out of the water. Adding a small powerhead or air stone when doing this can counteract that.

Thank you so much!!

So I go to the fish store this morning to pick up my majestic angelfish and the owner tells me that when he came in this morning it was dead on the bottom of the tank!!!! Total bummer for sure but at least it didn't die in my care. So now I have to go on the hunt for a new one because I am definitely adding one of them to my tank and in the meantime though, I did buy a Fathead Anthias and I'm just wondering are there any different methods to the QT with this fish versus what I was going to do with the angel??
