Yes seachem Matrix carbon

Head & Lateral Line Erosion "HLLE":

Symptoms
-
HLLE literally looks as though the skin is rotting or peeling off the fish. Affected areas usually include the face and lateral line, and may be white in color.

Treatment options - This is more of a condition than an actual disease. Since no one can agree on the exact cause, all you can do is address all of the following theories regarding HLLE:

1) Stray voltage - Use a titanium ground probe & test your tank for stray voltage.
2) Running carbon - Don’t use it, or use only premium grade carbon.
3) Nutritional/vitamin deficiency - Feed high quality nutritional foods. Some have had success reversing the effects of HLLE by soaking food in “fish vitamins” and also feeding nori.
4) Copper exposure - Sometimes fish treated with copper (especially tangs) will develop HLLE. It usually "heals" post treatment, but food soaking a vitamin supplement is a good idea to help expedite this.

This is my Yellow Eyed Kole Tang that went through Copper several times in my FOWLER. (He was the only fish affected like this.) Now in his own QT, trying to improve his diet as @Big G suggested.

It's very difficult to meet the vitamin, fats, minerals, protein requirements for some angelfish in captivity. Access to their natural foods can be a challenge. Growing a variety of sponges in the sump and feeding them can go a long way to helping balance your fish's food intake. But in the meanwhile, feeding a large variety of foods can help + vitamins. Beta Glucan can help the fish's immune system, and especially for angels, Brightwell's Angelixir can work very nicely. Highly recommend adding it to your angel's food mix:

interesting i thought only tangs got HLLE you learn something new everyday lol

It’s also fairly common in some species of large angels, and unfortunately the Majestic is often considered to be one of the more challenging species to maintain. It’s such a beautiful fish though fitting its name and I wish you the best of luck!

Stable water parameters + good diet, they’re omnivores so incorporate both meaty and Herbivorous foods. Keep us posted.
That is currently what he eats. Should I stop the the matrix?

G! I appreciate you... thank you so much!

Hey,

This is an old post but same thing is happening to my majestic. Interesting the only recent change to my tank has been the use of seachem matrix carbon. I have been feeding the angelixir and no stray voltage. Any other reefers who have fish and use seachem carbon, skip it.
