Make up water question

Randy I use 30 to 40 gal evaporation a day . System is 1200 gallons . This isn't the issue lol. After di dkh of water is almost zero. Should I buffer the water to 8 dkh . Or is there anything else that I should be replenishing. The cal reactor keeps parameters stable. Always looking to improve. Thanks for you time .

No!

Do not add anything to your top off water.

Unless you want to add Kalk. Kalk will add Alk, and Cal in the correct ratios and also raises pH. Since your cal reactor adds Cal/ALK, you will have to reduce its out out accordingly.

Doing so will boost alk in the tank because it is replacing evaporated water that removed zero alkalinity.

That said, it is OK to deliver alkalinity that way if you want and need it.

the corals consume it too... so yes you need to add, but if you're adding already, no point doing it for make up too !
