I've been collecting some zoas to make a garden. Most are still on frag plugs but I want to transfer them to some rocks so they can spread.
I am thinking about putting them on some rounded dome shape rocks. I have a big colony of gobbstoppers on a flat rock.
Anyone seen the chalice dome?
The Alternative Reef Chalice Dome
That looks like a good option. I'm thinking about breaking up some live rock but it probably won't split the way I want it hehe.

Too much work with taking out big rocks and not being able to pull them out for fragging/keeping colonies from encroaching others ect. All my corals come out easily for any type of maintenance/fragging.

Grow them out on small pieces of live rock and then place them together. When you grow them out first you get really nice circular shaped colonies that look nice next to eachother.

Not to worry about the frag plug If you could grow the zoa. They will cover the frag plug in no time.

I'm using these:

I glue the palys to the top of the dome (usually I just remove the stem from the frag plug and glue the disk up there, but I'm sure there are cleaner ways to do it), then I insert frag plugs into the holes and let the zoas and plays grow down over the new plugs for fragging.

Those things are great, where do you get them?! It would be even better if there was a hole on the top to put the frag.

I know this is an old thread but do these still exist ?
