Making Kalkwasser work harder for you

Kalkwasser is God’s gift to reefers. This isn’t new information. We all know we need to dose in high flow areas. I made a little video showing how much a difference this makes. If you’re new like me you take the word of people. Being that I cannot sit still and I like tinkering with stuff, I did a little test for myself to see what happens when I dosed in different areas of my sump. FWIW, a two part made from hydroxide can attain many of the benefits of limewater (kalkwasser), with no limitation based on evaporation rates.

The two part will become part of my system eventually. I would love to stick with kalk as long as I can as I’m currently solving a few issues at one time with it. With how much I am depleting my alkalinity I do believe it will be sooner than later. I don’t know enough about chemistry to shop for two part chemicals that are not from BRS so I will be paying a premium compared to people who know the safe brands to buy in bulk. I’ve watched pretty much all of the BRS videos on two part (Including the one where Ryan discusses Dowflake) but I just don’t want to run the risk of buying the wrong thing. That being said, with what those guys have taught me I have no issues spending my money there.
