Hi Aquaforest friends! I started the transition to AF products a few months back and currently only need to dose the KH buffer as the weekly water changes maintain CA and Alk (for now) in my LPS tank. My question is when I mix the KH buffer based on 80g to 1000ml is it normal to see some of the powder settle at the bottom, similar to kalkwasser? or should it dissolve 100% into the water with no amount settling at the bottom?

Thank you for the help!

No, usually everything dissolves, but I'm using BRS stuff.
When making these 2-part solutions, fill container 3/4 full, add dry stuff, mix by shaking rapidly 2 mins. Top off container with water.
***** Wait a day to use solutions! *****

First thing generally it dissolves completely.
But I did not get your point that if your water change is enough to maintain Alk then why you need KH buffer?

I apologize @Anirban I meant Ca and Mg. Typing too fast :)

Ok, I'll see if I can get it to mix more thoroughly, I followed the 80g per 1L and am having trouble getting it to fully dissolve. Using RODI to mix and all of that.

+1, fill a bucket with warm water, and put the container that's not dissolving in. Give it 10-15 mins. Shake well

That did the trick, thanks everyone!

I just mixed a batch.
When you added each ingredient, did you shake it well, then add second ingredient. I added both then shake, and I too had some undissolved.

I'm only mixing the KH buffer right now, and it mixed clean. I measured the 1L out and heated it, put it in a gallon jug, added the buffer, and shook for a few minutes.
