I know using RODI water is best but I can't find any stores around me that sell RO water my question is I have marine conditioner but would it be better to use that with distilled water instead of tap water?

You don't need any conditioners with distilled water. It is the next best thing to RO/DI , pretty much the same thing just a different method of getting it pure.

Avoid tap water at all costs.

Alright thank you I wasn't sure I'm new and still learning

I'm using 100% distilled in my nano's with no problems, I still check each jug with my TDS meter just to make sure I don't get a bad batch.. It's only like .88 a gallon at Wally World so for the cost of a complete RO system and the upkeep cost involved I can buy lots of distilled water.

If you have a system of any size, an RODI system pays for itself really fast. They are pretty easy to set up. It is also convenient to not have to haul large quantities of water around. You can have a decent amount of RODI water and mixed saltwater on hand and ready to go ...... Just in case.

Yes I know about RODI systems, but it comes down to the wife saying no I can't buy one now

Well just have her help carry the water back to the house or make her do it by herself once or twice and you will have a new RODI system in no time ;)

Doubtful she's active duty army so she's used to carrying heavy things
