How far in advance can saltwater be made prior to doing a water change? Once it’s mixed does it go bad if not used right away?

Thanks.

Depending on the brand you are using it can depend. Red sea salt directions say to mix and use no more then 4 hour after. So I would look at the instructions on your salt.

All your questions will be answered here in this video

What Fiesty said :). I mix mine several weeks in advance and store it in 5 gallon jugs. (one water change for me). I even spoke with @randyBRS. If it is mixed and heated for 24hrs it will store for weeks. (with exception of redsea pro coral with elevated levels)

They also just released a new follow up video testing the different holding capacity of heated and flow vs none. If u havent viewed it yet then check it out.
