Malachite green in QT tank?

Hello, as per title. Since I prefer not to use copper in my QT tank. Would malachite green be a decent alternative to help kill ich etc before putting fish into a display tank? Perhaps a low dose over longer period than usual? Ideas, suggestions please

Im not sure but i think it only works on infections. You could do the tank transfer method instead of copper.
