Mallorie and Matt's Nano in 90 Build Thread!

Well, I am going to do this contest and it will be my first ever Nano tank and only my 3rd ever reef tank set-up. This will be set up with mostly what I already own. Here are the basics of what will be the equipment:

Existing equipment:
20L Tank (30L X 12D X 12H)
AquaClear Hang on Back Filter (either the 50 or the 30)
ViaAqua 50 Watt Heater with digital temperature probe
20L Stand that I will be covering with wood siding using magnets

Need to buy:
Light: AquaticLife 24" 4-bulb t5 fixture plus bulbs
Hydor nano 240GPH powerhead

I'm trying to do this using as little power as possible since we don't have too much extra money to spare. :nerd:

I am going to use some existing live rock and buy a bag of sand to do a medium depth sand bed to help with filtration. I may buy some dry rock as well to help with the aquascape.

Check out the inTank media basket for the AquaClears. I run one and its very nice, much better than the one that comes with it.

Thanks! Those look really neat. I will have to get one. Someone else recommended the AquaClear surface skimmer. Does anyone have any experiece with these? THey are only $13 so it's not too big of a deal price-wise but I don't want to waste my money on something that doesn't work.

Looks good. I'm liking the metal stand. Don't worry about that little crack. I have a crack bigger than that in a 10 g that hasn't leaked in 2 years.

Rinsed with fresh RO/DI and need to buy some prime to make sure the bleach is all gone. Also need to make it level since it will REALLY bother me if it's not.
