Wednesday I received a Malu Anemone from Aquasd. I had been advised by @Orion (who I trust) to provide it with a sand bowl with 2 inches of sand and a tile at the bottom of it. Since then I have left the power head off (and added an air stone)so that it could attach the the tile. All had been well, but the anemone still hasn't attached to the tile. Today when I got home from work I decided to turn the power head on because I have plenty of nasties settling to the bottom and wanted to stir it up, get some more oxygen in the tank. The anemone still hasn't attached. So I have taken most of the sand out of the bowl and left the tile. Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Carrie
Btw, this 20L is tied to my 140 DT.
I just turned off the power head (RW8), because the nem was really coming out of the bowl. Guts started to come through the mouth of the nem, but receded immediately.
Now I'm getting worried.
Also, the green cup, if it's in the video, contains the sand taken from the nems bowl. I wanted it to stay in the tank to add back to the bowl after the nem attaches.

Orion would definitely be the Malu expert. I mean it looks good. Have you inspected the underside of the foot to ensure 100% there isn't even the smallest tear?

No, I haven't inspected the foot, good idea. I'll let it settle tonight, and if it's still loose tomorrow I'll take a look.

He looks OK. I would just leave he be overnight and see what happen. It does not seem like he is going to flow anywhere.

Yeah, I turned the power head off again. I'm not sure where I'd find a less powerful power head. I may be coming into possession of an mp10 tomorrow. Do you think that may be better?

Trying to get a sand dwellar to accept a bowl of sand can be difficult, unless you really have a good idea of placement regarding light and flow, it's a crap shoot in a bowl.
Personally I would never try to keep a sand dwellar in a tank w/out a sand bottom.
That, params, or a torn foot could be the issue potentially

Just keep in mind that even though they like higher flow I don't know of many Nems at all that will tolerate sitting right in front of a power head regardless of strength. Watching the video multiple time I think your flow may be just a touch too high while it still hasn't attached, it looks like your overflow may be pointed directly at it or just over the top of it. Your tank has really high flow which is nice, but I definitely try to limit my flow as much as possible when I have a newer nem trying to settle.

You may also consider some pantyhose for a few days regardless of the Jaebo or the MP10 until he gets firmly attached.

I've decided to move him to the DT and am considering placement. Any thoughts? I realize I'll have rearrange, and consider the BTA. Btw, the mp40's that are usually at the top front corners are just out soaking in vinegar right now.
Thanks!

Well, we'll see how it goes.
I took a pic of the foot and there are definitely mesenterials coming through. Are they through tears, or is it stress related?

Those are small tears. I would put a strawberry basket over him and keep him from getting move around. He may heal and eventually attach.

This anemone still hasn't settled in. I've kept him from tumbling around the tank, and today moved the trumpet corals from the spot he usually bounces around. Hopefully he'll settle in there.

Also, I haven't directly fed him. I think today I'll try. Maybe that'll make him happy. He looks pretty happy, just not settled.
