Mammoth Nano SPS Reef

This one has a mix of colors that was unexpected. I'll be interested to see how it continues to grow.

That frag hasn’t done anything in the years I’ve had it. Not sure why. It is completely surrounded at this point by all of it’s neighboring acros. Maybe I should clip it and force the issue.

No, up in WA state. Just thought I would be creative with the name. Feels a bit like a nano tank after having much more room and real estate before.
Lol I was gonna comment to some this is far from a nano :P

But compared to a large system I could definitely see this feeling like a Nano.

@Dugless hope the tank is still doing well!
Tank is doing good. I need to trim some stuff. Things are running into each other here and there. I’ve had to chip a few colonies out and I’ll probably trade them in somewhere. Just need to find the time. Right now I have a few pieces scattered in the sandbed.

With a 6 month old baby, I’m still scrambling to find enough time to get everything done around the house. I hope winter gives me a little extra time and I’ll be able to provide a better update.

Well let me know if you pull out the clippers! Hope you're getting some sleep with the baby too!

This is my first downsize aquarium. I love acropora and the involvement required really drives my interest in everything saltwater. With over 20 years in the hobby, the real challenge of this reef aquarium will hinge on the limitation of space and keeping things simple/organized while successfully growing coral. Enjoy!

I glued a backup frag when moving and now I'm stuck with two 4-5" colonies. Anybody else done the backup frag and regret it later on?

Feel free to ship me the extra if you don't want it! lol

Battlecorals Space Laser

This coral needs no fancy tricks to look amazing with its metallic gold polyps on a deep purple background. However, it really doesn't get the attention it deserves as neither color screams from across the room. Really a shame as it's a unique piece for sure.

I like the way a glowing blue shows up when you look at if from an angle. It’s almost like a blue haze. My frag made it 4 nights in Memphis when no other frags lived.

Absolutely, its somewhat visible in a photo, but you definitely need to see it in person to capture the full effect of the nice blue sheen.
