So what better way to introduce myself then to jump right in to a rock question?! :)
I've just setted up my 20g long tank with dry rock and live rock. So the other day when I was picking out line rock for the tank, I was presented with two options: real live rock for $9.99/lb or man made ones for only $7.99. It says in the description that it has all the benefits of real live rock while is better for the ocean and nature and it is cured and doesn't have as much critters or hitchhiker in them. When I ask the employee there about the difference between the two kinds, she said that the only difference is one is from the ocean and one is not. So I opted for the man made kind because of its cheaper price, but I want to hear your opinion on this subject.
The one thing that I'm curious about I'd the price point since the man-made rock at this particular store I'd cheaper than the real kind, buy when I called another store, their man-made is actually more expensive. Which stores price is right?

All those numbers sound about right. They cost that much out here. What your paying for in the man made stuff is thats its already cured and has coralline growing on it. There are quite a few other options out there for ya, if you don't have to have it cured already. Just for future reference.

They said that its already cured, but with minimal coralline algae.
So does the manmade kind really has equal benefits to real live rock?

For the most part, yes, it does. Live Rock itself is formed from dead Coral, but the manmade stuff is pretty good, I use it myself. Plus you don't get the pesky hitchikers on the manmade stuff.

That's what they dated when I bought the piece. Thanks.
