Well, after the nualgi induced tank crash in my 210g reef I battled hair algae for at least a year and the hair algae won. From my point of view, I was left with 3 options: 1. Give up and quit the hobby 2. Tear the tank completely apart and start over with new sand, boil the base rocks and recycle them, and manually scrub any other rocks that had corals growing on them. Or 3. Start over and downsize.

I chose option #3. For one a smaller tank is more manageable, and takes up less room in an already cramped living room than the 210g. And for two, the corals and fish that I had left would go into a smaller tank and it wouldn't look so empty and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to fill the remaining spaces in with today's outrageous coral prices....

So a local guy had a pretty sweetened ready aga 75g tank, stand, 2x evergrow d120's, sump, return pump, 2 koralia's with wavemaker, and a few other miscellaneous items. I happen to have a sawmill and had some nice maple slabs milled up that he wanted so we worked a trade! Although the set up didn't come with a skimmer, my SWC 3000 barely got in the sump, so yeah, I'm overskimmed lol...

Here are some quick cellphone pics, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get a t5 light and sell the led's, I'm not a led fan.

Very nice! I tried the Nualgi stuff and it messed my nano up very bad, I ended up with GHA and my corals bleached. Not sure the reason and they never responded to me.

Seems the nualgei swooped in, killed some tanks and rolled.

Glad to see your back in action!

I was in the same boat as you were @skinz78 and picked the same option. After my battle with AEFW and the following crash I could no longer stand the sight of my old 180. And I ended up trading the 180 for a brand new rimless 93 Cube with a Synergy Overflow.

Your restart is looking good, keep it up!

Looking good Chris! The new tank is looking good. I understand the thoughts on your 210. I've told many people over the years that I could not imagine having a bigger tank.

Nice! Glad you didn't choose option #1, option #3 FTW!!!!! :D

Oh, and leave the leds for a while, you might end up liking them ;-)

I have a little more room in there for a few acro's!
