Managing ammonia with copper in QT

Hello all,
Was wondering what folks do in QT as far as managing ammonia in a QT with copper, given that amquel is incompatible with copper.

I prefer to treat all new arrivals with copper whether or not I see diseases, because it’s the only method I know of that treats both velvet and ich, and better ensures nothing goes into the DT with hidden parasites.
Obviously water changes would work as well but I feel like they really hurt stability stressed out fish may need.

As long as your biological filter is well-established you will be fine. I treat all fish prophylacticaly with copper (along with several other meds), and have never lost one due to ammonia.

As long as you are using chelated copper and not ionic copper then you can use seachem Prime or amquel safely. I also agree with the above statement. If biological media is well established there shouldn’t be an ammonia issue.
@Humblefish posted that chelated copper is safe with ammonia detoxifiers. There’s a public service announcement on here somewhere about it.
