Hello. Ver new to this. I have a 32 gallon salt water

one maroon clown
One small starfish
And a anemone

I would eventually like to add an drawf angelfish and down the line when my tank is more established a mandarin dragonet (and yes I know they are difficult)

my question is, will these fish get along?

The Dorf angels I have my eye on are

Crown, beauty
Lemon peel (favorite!)
Flame back
Flameangel

what are your guys thoughts?
One day I’d also like a seahorse once I have enough experience but not sure if it can stay with angels

Go to Alyssa’s Seahorse Savvy and read articles before you decide on fish if you plan on seahorses in the future. A clown can live a long time. Very interesting articles.

A mandarin pays no attention to most fish or size.
Will not tolerate another male mandarin, but several females can work in larger tanks.
Most fish don’t seem to pay the mandarin fish any attention as well.
Mine, with 4, 5” tang group, Anthais, clowns, grammas, dottybacks….
He invades everyone’s territory and is not chased.
Easy fish if you have a constant availability of food items.

Tank mates shouldn't be a problem, my Ruby red and green spotted Mandarin gets along fine with my flame angel. The bigger problem is how you plan to feed your Mandarin with a smaller tank.

You have 2 choice here, either teach your Mandarin to eat frozen food or establish a nice refugium that produces lots of pods for your Mandarin.

I went the refugium route. Even though I only have a 50 gal tank, I think my refugium can support both of my Mandarins.

several females can work in larger tanks.
I had two tiny females in a 90 gallon and had to re-home one because the other was literally grabbing her by the throat and shaking her like a rag doll...

All that to say, male/female pair is safer than two of one sex.

If you are a beginner, only buy a dragonet that will eat frozen brine shrimp. Otherwise it is likely to starve as in nature they primarily eat copepods. If the shop owner will not drop some brine shrimp into the tank so you can see the fist eat, go a a different shop. You will need to keep frozen brine shrimp for feeding the mandarin.
