My reef is 3 years old and over the course of that time I have added Tisbe Pods several times to the sump. My sump middle section is full of live rock and an algae scrubber. I figured by now surly I have a plentiful replenishing supply of pods to get a mandarin. What I did not take into account was I also have a coris wrasse!

So I had the mandarin for about a week and he is not at all interested in mysis shrimp. The first week I did see him picking at the rocks, sand, and glass. After about a week, one night I find him floating around lethargically sticking to the power head. I fished him out by hand, turned him over, and his stomach was all caved in :(. Thinking he was a goner I decided to put him in the sump where there is no competition for food and see what happens. Here we are another week later and he is still alive down there looking much better.

I still squirt a tiny bit of mysis down there when I feed in hopes that he is eating it. And if he is not then the rocks are loaded with miniture brittle stars. So I am sure it will not be long before the food source is depleted what should I do?

@Paul B has a great Mandarin feeder. It requires hatching brine shrimp. It's a very great feeder.

Have you looked into setting up a feeder and hatching baby brine shrimp? I do this every day to keep my mandarin happy in my 90 using the feeder designed by @Paul B and linked below. It's not hard to make and works brilliantly, I use ocean nutrion sep-art magnetic brine eggs so hatching and seperating BBS from shells only takes 5 mins each morning. Also in the short term try frozen brine instead of mysis, mine loves this but won't touch mysis. It's not the best nutritionally but may help get if feeding at least until you can get a hatchery and feeder setup.
