Mandarin goby mistake??

I just bought this Mandarin goby today from my lfs. He was acting super healthy at the store. But in the bag he seems to have lost color. He definitely has a lot of mucous as you can see which I’ve read is a defense mechanism. Need a second opinion on how it’s health looks before it causes a problem in my tank

It's not unusual for them to have muted coloring when stressed. Acclimate it properly and then get it into a tank so it can find some hiding spots until it gets comfortable.

Are you planning to do any observational quarantine?

Mucus separation from netting and bagging can happen. Loss of color in bag due to loss of aeration and provided it's going into a healthy tank- should restore quickly
