Hi, I currently have an established 75 gallon aquarium. It was setup 9/17/20, with 40% of the aquascape being mature live rock, and live sand was used as well. I have a drilled 15 gallon plumbed in as a fuge, and after buying some tanks at petco I have an idea. I’m planning on plumbing in a 10 gallon next to the 15 so the refugim water will flow into the 10 gallon. I know its only 10 gallons, but it’d be getting a STEADY supply of copepods with no competition. would I be limiting the quality of life of such a tiny fish in a 20x10.5x12“ tank? If so I could maybe go grab another 15 and make that work? or should I just wait another 6 months and throw him in the DT? I’m only against this idea because I love leopard wrasses and I don’t like the idea of slowly starving 2 fish. I really appreciate any time taken to help me figure this out, thank you!

Tough call but good call on the quality of life, my girl is in a 125 display, your system will maintain a mandarin but they do like to explore.
I like your idea and would wait six months to get the display loaded, live phyto helps, if you get a baby you could start it in a small tank to fatten up but if it was me I would wait and add it straight to the display.

Sounds like some really solid advice! now I just have to figure out what to put in that 10 gallon

I have a leopard, and young biota mandy in my 80G cube. Even with 2 specific pod eaters, I still have pods on the glass at night.

I think your system would be fine with both, specially with a dedicated fuge. I just have extra rock rubble in the middle compartment of my sump and the pods breed like rabbits in there.

That’s really cool to know I have them absolutely everywhere and all different species raining from pinhead size to

That’s really sweet to hear! I have them absolutely everywhere and all different species ranging from pinhead size to visible Legs on some of them. Just to clarify you suggest throw both in the DT?

Got it plumbed in! Does anyone have any good nano suggestions?
