i want a mandarin goby but my new 90 gallon has not been established that long at all, i hve heard that there are mandarins that eat brine shrimp. if anyone knows where to get one that eats brine shrimp it would help lots!! thank you

You can not meet the nutritional needs of a Mandarin by feeding it Brine Shrimp, that is just empty calories.

i have heard of mandarins being trained to eat brine shrimp and ive seen videos. they look just fine

and i have fed my fish brine shrimp for years and they do perfect. brine shrimp are full of proteins

A mandarin dragonet (they are not gobies) cannot be maintained long-term on brine shrimp. It does not contain enough nutrition.

There are other options. You can purchase live copepods (think $30+ per month) or, if you can get one THAT YOU OBSERVE eating frozen foods, it can learn to eat things like prawn eggs (Nutramar Ova is a good one), bloodworms, and depending on its size (they have tiny mouths) small mysis shrimp.

This fish also requires peaceful tankmates, so keep that in mind.

thank you, i will look into that. do you know any websites that might sell them?

The fish or the food?

Personally, I would not buy one online. You need to observe the specimen in question eating, and make sure it is fat and healthy.

yea the fish, i dont know of many aquariums in the dallas area that might have one. ill keep you updated if i find one though, thank you
