I got this little guy about 4 weeks ago it seems he’s always hunting and pecking during the day does this mean he’s most likely eating ?

I did stock my tank with pods when I set it up which was 4 months ago it’s a 40 gallon aio with a deep sand bed and sponges and chaeto in one of the back chambers I do see pods floating through the water column at night it’s not a exploded population but they are there and I try to put some phytoplankton in at least once a week to feed I guess what I’m trying to ask is how do I know my mandarin is Healthy he’s very colored up and active during the day and doesn’t hunt at night

Well right now it looks fat and happy. So it's probably eating. You could always supplement with brine shrimp hatch

Sounds good that’s what I was thinking too just wanted second opinions

My mandarin harem ( 1 male, 2 females ) have all the pods they can eat and I add the afternoon brine shrimp hatch, or morning which ever it happens to be. I have 2 brine shrimp hatcheries going 12 hours a part on harvest . They are all fat and the females look like they are getting close to the spawning age, and may have eggs going already.
