I had both. The red ended up jumping and have rarely seen any for a long time.

Same here I (had) both no issues. My Red dragonet decided to find the only small hole in my lid no bigger than a dime and committed suicide yesterday! Loved that fish

full disclosure... I only had my psychedelic mandarin female with red dragonet male for about a year, then lost my red dragonet male to MP40.... put covers on my MP40s after the fact, but they get so gunky that covers are back off...

my psychedelic mandarin female predated the red dragonet male, and she continues to do fine... so fat that her name is Orson Wells... eventually I'll find another red dragonet male but I had grown my first one from a tiny scrap of a fish into a decent size... only to be cutup by pump... I'm still broken hearted...

My mandarin and drogonet paired up great with goby in cave, with pistol shrimp, unsure why but found drogonet in my wavemaker one morning ( obviously dead) , I researched so much before introducing and little guy was eating so well beforehand, mandarin is still alive now
