I have had two mandarins for over 2 years now in my 125 gallon reef tank. The tank is fully stocked with pods, and the mandarins have doubled in size since I bought them. I have also seen them eat Dr. G's food before. I have noticed recently that they have been doing what almost looks like a little dance together for the past month, and I thought maybe they were spawning. Tonight when I turned the lights to blue, the female bit and latched on to the male on his back and would not let go? She is significantly smaller than the male, and I have never seen them do this before. What is happening? Help!

Thanks in advance!

I saw a vid of a manderin doing this to a different type of fish. Sounds like aggression. :-(

I had the exact same thing happen i never did get to the bottom of it the only thing interesting i did read was that the male has to dominate the female so maybe shes in the mood snd he isn't
