Hey guys I know requirements for all of the mandarin gobies but I was just curious if anyone has had success with one in the nuvo 20. Also if you have, did you train the mandarin to eat frozen food or did you find a way to have pods continue to populate ?!

I would think it would be tough to keep a mandarin thriving in that small of a tank. You would have to constantly dose pods even if your mandarin was eating prepared foods. They need to eat constantly and live pods are often overlooked as a necessary staple since mandarins are being raised on prepared foods. It can take a very long time for a mandarin to starve as well.

The digestive tract of a mandarin is short and inefficient. They need to eat almost constantly. So even if they are eating prepared foods, that is only a small portion of their needed nutritional needs.
