I am wanting to prepare my 13month old tank for a mandarin.

I have the means and items to start cultivating copepods to get my tank stocked up In anticipation of purchasing a mandarin dragonet....

What species of copepods do you recommend?

Tisbe

Tigriopus

Apocyclops

Two out of the three? Or all three in algae Barn 5280 pods?

Are you trying to cultivate these in the tank/refugium or in separate cultures?

I was actually going to cultivate them in a 20 gallon tank. And then add them to my Sump and 125 gallon display tank.

A 20 should be fine. If you cultivate a mix, one species will eventually win out over time. If you are okay with reseeding every so often (maybe 3 months or so), it shouldn't really be an issue.

I cultured and seeded a lot of tisbe for my tank. Currently taking a break from culturing. There were also many in the tank already, no clue what they are. Ones that stick mostly on the rocks, like tisbe, would be best, since a mandarin is rarely not on the rockwork hunting.
