Hello! I want to get myself a mangrove but not put it in my tank. What sort of care is required? Can I put it in tap water? Do I need a light if it is by the window? Would a simple vase suffice? Is substrate necessary? Forgive me, I’m new to mangroves

Keep in mind, evaporation in your 'vase' will raise salinity over that 1.024 ideal range... too salty is bad for roots and plant. Freshwater misting on leaves.

You don't need to keep a mangrove in saltwater.
