I;am thinking about putting some mangrove plants in my sump and need to know if the leaves need to be above the water level? If so what can I use to raise them?

Yes they need to be above water level. And if they're not there yet, they will either grow out of the water or you can try to have them "float" (attach them vertical, like a heater). Once the leaves are above the water line, make sure to spray them down daily with some freshwater (RO). They will thank you later. ;)

i've heard you gotta be careful cuz they suck up your magnesium... this is just something i heard from LFS... i'm in florida so it's easy to just go get mangroves but i ended up taking them out because my system is doing good so why change it... i just stuck to the cheeta
