Hey! I’m a little new to the saltwater hobby.
I have a 55gal main display with a 20 gallon sump 4ish gals dedicated to a refugium
Im planning to plumb my already established sump from under the cabinet to my basement. (Have it all planned out and tested a “model” to make sure it would work as planned.
When I do this I want to get rid of the refugium in the sump to dedicate it to equipment only and instead add another 40 gallon breeder and do a display refug with 2-4 mangrove trees and macros. My main display has corals so I can’t add certain fish inverts etc. but I’m wondering if an eel or puffers, and other inverts that eat coral would be acceptable to live in the refugium or if it would be defeating the purpose.
I’m already cultivating pods and phyto for my tank so the refug would be more to filter water then breed pods
