Mangroves in new sump?

Can you put mangroves in a newly set up sump? It'll have dry marcos rock and water.

Well, the marcos rock is shipped and on the way. Any ideas if I can add mangroves right away?

I have mangorves in my refugium. But they are in a sand bed.
You did not mention if you have a sand bed.

I also waited until my tank had run for awhile before I added them. So not quite sure if they would be OK in a brand new setup that would need to cycle.

No sand bed just rock and water. I planned on planting then directly into the rocks.
