I have been thinking about adding a few mangroves to my refugium. I have a trigger system Triton sump with a 9g refugium and a kessil h80 light growing cheato at the moment. But was hoping I could add a few red mangroves in. Just curious if it is possible and if so what I need to do to set it up correctly. I'm assuming some kind of substrate is needed. Any info is appreciated!

I grew my Mangrove by hanging it on my DT without any substrates.
It grows from seed, and its roots will attached to those live rock.

Awesome I didn't think about that. Id really like to put some kind of substrate in my sump and grow them there if it's possible. I'm just not sure what to use and if my light can grow them.

Well, i guess they will thrive as long as grow them from seed? My friend grow them with reef sand with T5 lights.
I grow them using China black box led.

My observation is best to get the seed and grow. I tried to purchase those grown up with multiple leaves one, but they seems hard to acclimate, eventually died off. While the 3 of those i had were grow from seed.
