My understanding is that you can but acclamation is a must. You can have ones in fresh water and then get them over to salt. You're in Florida, why don't you just go pick some by the coast and put them in your sump? Haha. Don't even have to get them off eBay.

Remove from pot and place on a piece of styrofoam floating with roots down and place on 100% fresh water. Every 3-4 days dump some fresh water and put salt water till its 100% salt. I used to grow mangros and thats what i used to do to be able to place on saltwater tank. You can just dump them on your tank also if you're not patient but survival rate is like 30-40% if you dont acclimate.

Don't pick your own. Definitely very illegal, despite the sheer amount we have in our area.

You are allowed to get them If they're free floating or in the beach without roots. I've asked and that's what a beach patrol officer told me in naples. If you rip from a tree or if a baby is on the ground with roots its a big nono.

Josh, you seem to know a thing or two,lol. I've heard mangroves really suck up the magnesium. any truth to that?
I was looking to run like a 1 foot by 6 foot wall of them mostly for looks in my sump room. also how effective are they really for export?
