I have a mangrove that lost its leaves a long time ago, it has a goog root system but where the leaves come out it is dried and no pistol comming out. How can I get it to sprout leaves again, My oothers are doing great. I spray leaf aria with ro water daily.

Thanks for supplying the info. As long as the root system is good, it is still largely green and good lighting is used then the mangrove should be okay. I have also had many mangroves that decides to not grow for a while then after a few months it decides to start sprouting. I'm not sure why but your mangrove could just be a late/stubborn bloomer. But as long as its alive it will grow someday. Remember that mangroves are actually pretty slow growers in the first place.

What happens is that instead of exerting all it's energy into the leaves , it puts it into the roots. Do you have the roots in some type of substrate?

To my knowledge yes. Once it gets good into the substrate it should regrow leaves. Right now mine isn't in the substrate so the leaves have been down. It's hard to see growth though, they grow so slow.

Most of my mangroves are aerials and they still have leaves. Actually, when I first received them, the aerials grew before the ones in the substrate.

That's good. Normally the roots grow long before leaves grow but either way if the propagule is green you are good.
