MANGROVES!

So question for you guys I have a 75gal DT would I be able to get these tall enough to sit in the tank? Also can they take high flow?

Not a whole lot to update. These guys are slow growers when they're not planted in substrate. The roots for most have grown all the way to the bottom of the tank, so I'm going to begin the process of lifting them above the water line to thicken up the root structures.

I'll update with some photos soon.

Been a year or so....any updated pics?

Any updated pictures?
I want to see how your attempt to grow the roots out worked. I have a similar idea in mind. In my research for mangroves I stumbled into this awesome thread!

I’m setting up a bin outside in a shed.south Florida so temps should be fine.

7 weeks. All 6 have actually sprouted now. 7 week picture was taken this past Saturday.

This tank is so beautiful, it has me rethinking what I want to do with the rest of my reef life.

how do i know if i have a red mangrove? just picked this guy up, seems okay. do i need to give it light?
Not really sure on the first question. If it sits under reef tank lights it will do fine, however in a sump it will need extra light. Make sure to spray it everyday with RO water.
