How does anyone who has Mangroves in their sump have them placed? I have enough room for a couple and wanted to try them out. I don't have sand in my sump, just a few pieces of LR. All suggestions are welcome.
Thx

they grow fine just with their roots dangling in the water. Seen them floated with a piece of pool tubing. I've got mine "tied" with a rubber band to a suction cup on the glass.

I just made a basket out of egg crate and used pvc hangers to keep it in place

I got some a few months ago for the first time. Then I moved and honestly treated them very poorly in regards to all I have read about placement, cleaning, etc. They haven't skipped a beat and have been growing well!

Interesting I have a seafood restaurant in Sabah Borneo. There is a 17 ft x 4 ft x 4 ft aquarium at the entrance with the live sea food tanks. The former owner never had any luck keeping it. After much thought on which way to go with it we decided to do a river tank. The restaurant is located on the Kwang River about a 1/2 mile from the South China Sea. We get our water for our live stock from the river and it is mostly plumbed to fill the big one. We plan to pump river water into the tank controlling the level by a 2 in stand pipe cut to level and use the available river rock and mud as background and there are multipul mangrove plants growing on the bank of the river to decorate the tank All livestock will be collected from the river. there is quite a variety there. No crocs though.
