Hi everyone!
I’m working on designing my manifold for my sump and had some questions.
first for my sump I decided to use a 40 breeder and do one baffle at the end to separate my return section. The rest will house a Red Sea roller mat and I plan on running an algae scrubber off my manifold. So no scimmer or refugium.
For my manifold I thought about having it end back in the sump towards the bottom to give some flow in the sump and help push water across one end to the otherMaybe this could help push any debris and detritus up against the baffle for easy cleaning. I also want to keep several small sponges in the sump to get seeded with bacteria so I can use them when I need to set up qt tanks. I read on here that you need flow to pass through them to get good bacteria population.
would there be any issue with having my manifold dump back in the sump or do I need to cap the end to make it work properly?
Trying to think this through before I build it and input wold be greatly appreciated!
