So I'm struggling with an idea. I bet i'm over thinking it as well.
I'm redoing my plumbing on my 180, with 40 gallon sump. My outlets are 1" and I'm changing my inlets from 3/4" to 1". I'll be using a ecotech L2. So like so many people, do I run my manifold off the same inlet line?
This is just a thought, down the road- to run gfo, carbon, possibly bio pellets. Now my local fish guys say it can be done in line. I'm either going to run aquamaxx reactors or bashsea 4-18 reactors.
I do not know the formula for head loss. So I think I would be pushing it and would have to redo it. Attached was some ideas of it being plumbed inline with the output / then I thought maybe i could catch an outlet to the sump.
Power is an issue for me, as where my tank is, power grid is used by 2 rooms. I do not want to run a new electrical for my tank. Plus I'm running out of outlets on my surge protectors.
My other idea is run its own pump and go crazy with my pvc as it will be its own line. My old pump will easily handle it- 3100 gpm. If i did it this way, i would run the line into the over head of the cabinet then have it down where I have room for media
So let's here your guys thoughts. Thank you
