Manifolds - Are you running one?

I recently updated my sump to include a manifold. In addition to the dual returns, the manifold supplies a TLF 150 reactor (diy chaeto reactor) and BRS mini reactor w/ Rox 0.8 & GFO. I added a third port and plugged it for future use. The Syncra 2.0 return pump in the picture had to be replaced as it could not handle the additional load. I now have a Reef Octopus Varios 4 dialed down (the Varios is a beast!).

I see your Sicce sitting on a piece of light difuser, but is there something else under the difuser its tough to tell?

How do you like the mini reactor? I bought one to run GFO/Carbon same as you for a 90 cube and worried now its undersized.

I have 3 outputs off my manifold, but currently only use 2 of them. The middle one is for GFO & pre-filter and the right one feeds my refugium. I have a Vectra M1 pump, which has plenty of power for everything.

Also, as you can see, I have to use a lot of silicone tubing, since my sump area is very small and I have to move things around for daily/weekly maintenance. Plus, I end up changing things around fairly often, which make me reluctant to hard pipe everything.

You're the first person I have seen to use the Marine Pure blocks instead of the giant cubes... How do you like them? I plan to run them similarly as you did... Under my skimmer and in part of my refugium. Basically anywhere they can fit. I'm working with a small area as well and will have to be running lots of silicone. Thanks for the ideas!

I made a 4 valve manifold running off a panworld for return. I used the regular white ones from Home Depot. Problem I'm having is the valves won't turn after sitting awhile. Anyone else having this problem? Should have went with gate valves.

They spoke towards this issue on one of the BRS videos... After some time they become dang near impossible to turn.

Edit: I never realized R2R had a vulgarity filter haha, dang was not in my vocabulary.

As part of my maintenance schedule, I turn the valves at least once a month so they don't get stuck. It does help.

My geo’s reef sump come’s with two outlets from a manifold for the bio pellet reactor and refugium inlet. Using a vectra m1 on my total water volume system of 120 gallons. Two more manifold outlets were added for water changes and future growth.

You can get the colored PVC at BRS, but you can get pipe and colored basic fittings (45s, 90s, Ts, caps) online from Home Depot. Search for "furniture grade pvc" on the HD web site.

I have asked at BRS and what they sell is furniture grade PVC. To my knowledge, I don't think there is such a thing as food grade colored PVC. From what I have read, the main difference between the furniture grade and regular PVC is that the furniture grade is UV resistant and has a glossy exterior. Its primary use is for building outdoor projects, which will have exposure to the sun's UV rays. I believe that because its intended purpose is for building projects, like outdoor furniture, it is not tested by the FDA for use with food. You can look through the pages of this forum and you will find plenty of tanks plumbed with colored PVC - and a lot of them are awesome, healthy tanks.
