I thought it was a little past overdue posting a build thread for my tank considering its been up and running for over 10 years :)
As we all know, most reef tanks are never truly finished, constantly changing and evolving over time, mine is no different.

So with that said, I will leave you with this little taste, and a promise to come back with more updates as time allows.

Fantastic looking tank! Is there a name for the yellow acro colony with blue tips?
Thanks, That colony is Sexy Corals, Orange Passion, SCOP.

I'm glad the video works, I did it as a test to see if I could make it show up in my post.

Nice! is it as yellow without the filter, I've yet to find an acro that's true yellow without an orange/brown filter.

I color in the photo is probably a little more accurate, there is some green in then base that doesn't show up in the video.

Yea I see a little green in the tips and the skeleton, but the polyps look bright yellow. dang. I'll have to try and get a piece for myself, though finding it in Canada probably won't be easy...

I might as well start at the beginning, here is the first picture of my tank. That little guy in the there is now 20 years old, hard to believe, time flies.

The tank was built by a guy in Canada, he stopped making tanks awhile ago. He also made Sanjay's large display tank right after mine.

I spent a lot of time planning out my current system. I knew that I wanted a large display aquarium, peninsula style viewable on 3 sides, with suspended lighting. I wanted it to be as clean looking and quiet as possible. The aquarium was custom made of 3/4” low-iron glass. It measures 80” x 40” x 30” and has a volume of 400 US gallons. The aquarium is rimless on the short viewable side while on the opposite short side I have my overflow and my “Wall'O'Pumps”. The overflow is built into the center and surrounded on both sides of the overflow are built in custom designed dual wave boxes that contain large propeller style pumps that I keep on a random flow schedule. Currently just using Jebao propeller pumps.

This video is almost exactly a year old, but it gives a good sense of a walk around the 3 sided peninsula tank.

I turned all the flow off and got this really nice picture. Top down is always the best IMHO

Not much else to report, tank is doing great and growth is good.
That is beautiful!

Nice work. Who built the tank?

Thanks everyone, it took a long time to get the tank to this point, lots of up’s and down’s as with most reef systems.

The tank was built by a guy in Canada, he drove it down personally to me in Ohio. Sadly he is no longer making tanks.

Very nice reef and well done. I am curious, if you don't mind:

1 - What is this coral?

2 - What lighting are you running?

1. That coral is Cherry Bomb, here are some recent frags I made.

2. Up until recently I was using Orphek Atlantic V4's, 5 of them.
Around Christmas time I changed them out for the new Orphek Icon's
