I have a pair of maxpect bio blocks but i have seen mantis bio filter blocks visually identical with maxpect bio blocks but the price is way cheaper. I have not seen reviews about this product. Wanted to see if someones been using it long term or any feedback on this.

Did you ever give the Mantis brand a try?

I did! Ive had my system running for about 4 months now and i never encountered any issues so far.

50 gal DT and 30 gal Sump. Its bare bottom and I started with dry rock. I did my rocks scape then cycled it together with mantis bio blocks for 3 months. Cycled it with microbacter quickcycl and microbacter xlm.

When I got my tank and sump setup I seeded it again with microbacter xlm and everthings a breeze since then.

I feed heavily at leas 4 times a day with 1 bt, 2 ocelaris, 1 purple dottyback, 1 tomini tang and 1 moorish idol.

My nitrate is at 1ppm.

For my filtration. Only used 2 filter socks, 8 blocks of mantis bio blocks and 2 bags of biospheres.
