Finally got a new mantis. N. Wenarae. Thanks to saltybottomreef for hooking me up. Hes in a 8g biocube. He hasnt eaten any cuc but does like the frozen ive been giving him.

I hear they not reef safe so I haven't got one yet but I do love them. I'm also worried my eel would be interested in him and he'd get punched in the face. Going to get a separate tank when I get one.

Didnt feel right with no clicking in the tank. All hail the new king. Anyone know the species. Got it 2nd hand from a lfs and they didnt know where the rocks from.

He will most likely suffer shell rot and perish in a reef tank...should set up a speciman tank for him.

No there not in same tank. What are u basing the shell rot comment on. He has plenty dark caves an all the coral frags he loves moving.

Link doesnt work for me. Is it about reef lighting? My tank is lit only from the center. His burrow is in the corner an isnt very bright there.

It mentions lighting, sand depth, etc etc - its very interesting. And that 'live rock alone' may not be enough (they need a place to create a 'tight burrow'. - how thats defined IDK
