Mantis shrimp

Remember, it's a shrimp. It is true that it can defend it's self against the hungry eel if it attacks, but you don't want to bring the poor eel any harm.

I don't. I put a green chromis in with it when I first got it gone the next morning

Yeah that tends to happen to everything that goes with a mantis shrimp :P

I kept damsels, feather dusters, urchins, LARGE snails with mine. Anything is at risk with a mantis though.

I somehow managed to keep a Coral Beauty and Damsel. Anything else that entered the tank however was never seen again. Nothing is safe however.

Putting corals in with a mantis is like putting live rock in with a dog face puffer, don't be surprised when it's reduced to rubble :)

Never owned a peacock only purple spotted mantis shrimps and they never bothered my fish but I do hear peacock will kill them. U might want to try your luck with just some cheap fish first like damsels and keep your mantis well fed. I wonder if it would leave a large lionfish alone ...
