Most of the threads I've been reading relating to Reefer 250 and 350s (basically 60-90G), a lot of them include very complicated SW making, RODI storage, ATO and AWC systems. Its really nice but unfortunately I can't do that, especially the hard plumbing parts.

Does anyone actually own Reefer 250/350 or 60-90G AND who still do it the 'old fashion' time consuming way?
make the SW in a big bucket, drain sump, refill...basically carrying buckets or I guess extending a hose from drain to tank/sump?

I currently have a Reefer 170 (44G), thinking about a 250 or even 350.
I basically do all the above when its time for water change.
Fill Brute with RODI, pour salt, add heater and pump....
Bucket at tank, drain water, carry to toilet. repeat 2-3times
wheel Brute to tank, pump water into sump

I use 2 Brutes on my 75. I make and mix water in one and drain into the other. I pump the drained water to a sink with a pond pump with a garden hose attached. Then I put it all away for another week.

I have a 50 cube with 10g frag tank. I mix 5g in a bucket and do a quick manual WC. It honestly isn't necessary with a tank that small. AWC systems are for people who have 300+g tanks.

The easy way is to make water station in the garage, plumb it to your sump and let your mixed water flow in. Easy compared to the ultra complicated setups.

But for a tiny baby tank like a 90 gallon... A bucket is all you need

I have a 90 DT with 50 gallon sump and make water in 5 gallon water jugs that get carried upstairs to get dumped into a 32 gallon Brute to make 25 gallons of saltwater for water changes. A second Brute is used to siphon/pump out 25 gallons of water. So yes....old fashion for me.

upstairs! that is pure dedication!

I do it the old fashioned way. Fill buckets mix salt, siphon dirty water into buckets, use a power head to pump new water into tank.

I have a reefer 170, 60 gallon fish only, and 40 gallon freshwater. All done old fashioned way.

I have a 75 gallon and did water changes with 1 brute can and 1 five gallon bucket, and a Python hose.

Every Sunday morning for 10 months I did this.
Make 10 gallons of saltwater in the brute can, test and make parameter adjustments.
Then I drain DT water into the 5 gallon bucket and carry to the drain. Repeat.
Then clean the bucket, fill with the new salt water, and carry back to the tank. Repeat.

I did not mind this work, actually I liked it, but last November I changed to Triton method and haven’t changed any water since.
