Just wondering if anyone does this? I'm thinking in terms of having a 25-30l container next to my tank with SW and just manually changing out 3 litres a day or so, thoughts? pros, cons? thanks.

A lot of work. Most times, water changes are good thing

Are you saying a weekly or bi-weekly water change is better than spreading it out over the week, if so why?

I dont think it matters.
Daily could make a tank more stable in some cases ,if your corals are consuming a lot of alk, cal, ect...

What I should have added: Sometimes water changes can fuel unwanted growth of algae or bacteria.

So my tank is roughly 185 litres, how many litres per day should I be looking to change?

I do this, my tank is only 14g, I change 2 sometimes 3 litres a day, I don’t need to heat the water as the drop in tank temp is very slight, the only drawback I find is thinking I may be changing too much water and wasting salt, I also do a 5-6 litre change weekly to vacuum the sand, that is so much more hassle, heating the water, covering the floor in towels etc the daily changes take less than 2 mins.

I've been trying to do this these days also bc its much easier than doing a large monthly WC that often requires help from one of my sons. However, it can become tedious to do frequent vs monthly but it depends which u prefer. I try to carry out TTL 10% water volume WC monthly which is either four small WC or 1 large. Like @Reef. said, w small WC u dont have to heat the water. Thought about installing an auto WC system but it's pretty expensive and the location of DT wont allow it.

3 seems about right. it would be about a 11% per week and if you miss a day here and there shouldn't be an issue.

I did this for a couple of months and found daily water changes valuable enough to automate them.
Agree on automating. I have automated on two tanks and was doing the 3rd one manually. Was planning to do weekly but realistically doing it every 3 weeks or so. Ordered another DOS yesterday.
