Fighting the good fight and trying to knock Ostreopsis Dinos out of my system. Did a quick and dirty install job with a Jebao 55watt UV and some new tubing. Since I installed it my skimmer is going crazy, like new skimmer crazy- been doing it since Thursday. This just a manufacturing oil from the UV and tubing type of situation that’s making it overskim? I did clean my skimmer out to make sure there wasn’t any sort of coincidental timeline blockage or anything like that. Will something like a PolyFilter help remove this stuff if that’s the case ?

When skimmers goes crazy - it is normally because of a changied surface tension. It could have been some release agent from the plastic molding or some plasticizer in the plastic or hoses. Normally it will go back into normal situation after a while.

It is always a good idea to rinse all new equipment before it enter the aquarium

Sincerely Lasse
