Hello list,

I have seen some really beautiful reefs on the Zeo forums. I wonder what people think about the TRITON method? Some of my buddies just say it is over priced two part and that their really is no proof of how well it works. Curious to know what the SPS experts think about Triton.

thanks
Mike

Really no one has an opinion on this topic?
R2R reefers we live in a free country do enjoy freedom of speech etc. why is so little spoken about Triton?

I'm not an "SPS expert," but I'll comment. I've seen enough nice Triton tanks and Zeo tanks and tanks maintained in lots of different ways to know that there are lots of ways to keep a reef, and they all seem to produce legit results. My understanding of Triton is that it definitely shares some of the same methodology as 2-part systems, but it is also quite different. Triton provides more control than basic 2-part through more precise testing and control of more specific elements. The philosophy of no water changes is definitely not in keeping with your standard 2-part system. Again, both systems produce solid results, but I definitely don't think you could say they are the same.

Triton works great I job many friends in Europe who use the method. It works really not over priced at all. Considering the amount of testing you get for the price. The problem most reefers have is they do far little testing and don't really understand the ability of corals to remove elements from the water. Relying on water changes to do the work. When if they knew the demands of their corals thru testing they would have even more spectacular reef tanks.
