Northern Pennsylvania. Wanting to buy a Marbled Catshark.

"Marbled catshark" can refer to several shark species. Are you talking about one of these sharks:

Atelomycterus marmoratus (coral catshark)

Atelomycterus macleayi (australian marbled catshark, almost never enters the trade)

Chiloscyllium plagiosum (whitespotted bamboo shark)

Chiloscyllium are Bamboos. Marbled catshark and coral catsharks are basically identical species but I more often see the name Marbled Catshark in the trade.

Looks like this source offers Atelomycterus marmoratus, though I have never had any experience with them:

Based on the body and head shape, I think the "Chiloscyllium plagiosum" for sale on the Salty Bottom Reef Company website is actually Atelomycterus marmoratus. I ordered some very healthy invertebrates and macroalgae from them a few months back:

Pete's is no bueno. Been there in person will never buy from there. Visible Ich on fish just dirty overall. Will check out the other source.

Wow saltybottom that's a bad picture lol. I tend to agree though its more slender than a bamboo from the looks of it.

If you don’t mind a drive to Lancaster, PA. This is one of the only places in PA I’ve found that sells sharks (I’d call and ask if they can get one) and has some really cool other animals! There’s a reason it has over 6,000 reviews! https://www.thatpetplace.com/ I’d also check out The Pet Zone in Pittston, PA. https://thepetzonepittston.com/

I actually bought from Pete’s when I was naive. Granted the store itself was a doozy but my banded shark came home , ate same day and is still thriving a year later
