Just about to start my first aquascape with some Marco rock. I was planning on using the super glue method.

However, if all the rock is glued, then aren't I shooting myself in the foot if I need to remove a piece of rock down the future, e.g to remove a certain pest / clean an algea etc?

Cheers :)

What I do is glue/bond rocks together in sections. Where I can easily pull off a couple pieces that are glued together without removing the entire set up

The risk with no glue and having the rock move

You could do both, glue the bottom pieces and stack the top pieces. I would play with my rocks on a table until you have a structure you are happy with. Leave lots of room for fish to have a safe place to hide and make sure “big” fish can fit inside.

I drilled my last aquascape and glued 1/2 acrylic pins to hold sections together. Worked beautifully.
