Anyone have any photos or information about Mardi Gras acro? I have a chance to pick up a frag but I can’t find much on this piece.

Thanks in advance

If you mean the RR Canada version, I have only ever seen one in person... a nub at a show. It is a pretty typical blue/black light tenius that needs the trick lighting. I would not probably give $50 for it unless you think that you can farm and frag it for money. It is probably not a good normal-light coral which will take a lot of the market away.

If you meant another coral, then my apologies and free bump.

I am talking about the RR Canada version. I just haven’t been able to find a lot of info on it when I search around.

I would suggest that you consider the decline in pricing and desire for trick-lighting tenius - the peak value is in the past and they are trending downward. However, if you love the coral, then pay what you think that it is worth to you.

I have the chance to get it for much much less than the 1k price listed above. About a quarter of that price actually if all works out.

I don’t mind the “trick lighting” corals because I run all blues on my systems at home.

I have the other high end tenius as well Walt Disney, home wrecker but I paid no where near to what I see them going for.

Mythical corals had one for $795 a couple weeks ago. Here’s a pic of his mother colony

I think we should start using the term "mother frag" now. As well as "mother colony" but "mother frag" seems to be what a lot of people should be saying. Cool acro but I see no reason to pay that much for a red and blue tenuis. Or any acro for that matter... :)

I’m curious. What do you guys mean by “trick lighting”?

Somebody will. It’s probably already sold.

Do you just mean actinic lighting? Or is this something different. I’ve been doing this a while and have never heard trick lights mentioned

Trick lighting meaning lighting that most reefers dont use over a display tank that has SPS. Heavy blue only, UV only etc.

Ahh ok. That makes sense. Thanks!
